About This Production:
Puffs (full title: Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic) is a hilarious, comedic parody told from the Hufflepuff perspective. It follows Wayne Hopkins, an awkward but lovable wizard, along with his friends Oliver and Megan, as they make their way through seven years at the wizarding school. Though overshadowed by the famous "boy who lived," these Puffs find bravery, friendship, and purpose in events unfolding around them, offering a heartwarming celebration for anyone who’s felt overlooked yet determined.

Narrator: Any 18–40+ (British-accented guide, engaging, comedic storyteller)
Wayne Hopkins: Male 18–35 (Nerdy, kind-hearted American kid; video game fan; loyal and earnest)
Oliver Rivers: Male18–35 (Math whiz from New Jersey; cerebral, earnest, and slightly awkward)
Megan Jones: Female18–35 (Sarcastic, dark-haired tough girl; rebellious, longing for acceptance)
Cedric / Mr. Voldy: Male18–35 (Cedric: the golden boy; charming and athletic. Mr. Voldy: evil, charismatic villain)
Ernie Mac: (+ various) Male18–40 (Loud and proud; also plays several adult male characters requiring comedic impressions)
Hannah: (+ various) Female18–40 (Shy, gentle Puff; also plays multiple adult female roles, comedic range needed)
J. Finch Fletchley: (+ various) Male18–40 (Fun-loving, boyish; also takes on multiple supporting/comedic roles)
Leanne: (+ various ) Female18–40 (Energetic, quirky; plays additional eccentric characters)

What You'll Learn:
In this audition workshop, participants will gain insight into the creative vision behind the upcoming production and what the director looks for in auditions. Through guided exercises, practical instruction, and performance-focused coaching, students will strengthen their audition technique, storytelling skills, and confidence in the audition room.
Each workshop is tailored to the style and demands of the specific show, offering actors valuable tools they can carry into future auditions—both at the Lyric and beyond.
Meet Your Instructor: Caity Tidwell
Caitlyn Tidwell is thrilled to continue her work with the Lyric Theatre, where she has directed multiple productions over the years. She is also an accomplished high school theatre director, leading students in both musicals and plays, including award-winning competitive productions. Caitlyn is dedicated to developing confident, prepared performers and enjoys helping actors understand how to present their strongest work in auditions and callbacks.
