AUDITION WORKSHOP: Bye, Bye Birdie

What You'll Learn:
Classic musical theatre brings its own set of challenges and Bye Bye Birdie is no exception! With 1950's dancing mixed with iconic songs and well known characters there's a certain level of performance we're looking for. We would love for you to join us at The Brownwood Lyric Theatre for this specialized audition class. We will be focusing on preparing you for the upcoming Auditions for Bye Bye Birdie Saturday July 19th at 1:00pm!
We will focus on cold reads and making sure you make bold choices with your characterization, touch on some tried and true basics of auditions as well as learn specific demands for this particular production concerning style. You will leave not only feeling confident about the upcoming auditions but busting at the seams to share what you learned. Sign up today!
Meet Your Instructor:
Shannon Lee has been acting and directing for over 30 years. The last 20 of which she has spent in the classroom teaching Technical Theatre, Acting, Musical theatre, Play Production and Theatrical Design to name a few. Directing thousands of students over the last two decades to three State One Act Play appearances, 34 State Theatrical Design Qualifiers, 127 ITS National Qualifiers and her students taking the global stage at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She has since stepped away from the classroom and is now the proud owner of The Texas Theatrical Supply Co, which supplies costumes, sets and props to theatres all over the United States. The Last 15 years she has been blessed to work alongside the Brownwood Lyric Theatre directing such box office successes as GREASE, Sister Act and most recently, The Play that goes Wrong and Leyendas. She is thrilled to be teaching this workshop! ~Colossians 3:23
