About This Production:
A Christmas Carol is the classic tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly businessman who despises Christmas and human kindness. On Christmas Eve, he is visited by the ghost of his former partner and three spirits—Past, Present, and Future—who guide him through a journey of reflection and redemption. Filled with heartwarming lessons, colorful characters, and festive cheer, this timeless story celebrates compassion, generosity, and the true spirit of Christmas.

What You'll Learn:
In this audition workshop, participants will gain insight into the creative vision behind the upcoming production and what the director looks for in auditions. Through guided exercises, practical instruction, and performance-focused coaching, students will strengthen their audition technique, storytelling skills, and confidence in the audition room.
Each workshop is tailored to the style and demands of the specific show, offering actors valuable tools they can carry into future auditions—both at the Lyric and beyond.
Meet Your Instructor: Darlyne Ervin
Darlyne Ervin is an educator and director with over 35 years of experience working in theatre. She has directed a wide variety of comedies and dramas and is a frequent adjudicator for UIL one-act play contests across the state. In addition to directing, Darlyne enjoys working with students in audition and performance clinics, helping them refine technique, storytelling, and confidence onstage.
